[Mint.Music.Lifestyle] Giving Away 3 Pairs Of Tickets To Catch President’s Challenge 2014 Tickets led by Lorraine Tan

My Singapore Project is in its fourth year running. Led by local singer and composer Lorraine Tan, this movement has grown from a small individual project to a large scale one that involves schools, education institutions as well as like-minded individuals from the broader community who believe in helping the less fortunate through music.

Every year, Lorraine will create an original song and music video in celebration of National Day, with the hope of inspiring fellow Singaporeans to help the less fortunate as they pursue their dreams and work towards their goals. Her song and music video titled Shine Singapore in support of ST School Pocket Money Fund last year had garnered over 240 thousand views on YouTube.

This song titled Shine Singapore was a Big Hooha last year, I remembered blogging about the song and music video, in comparison with NDP song 2013.
Read HERE.

 Fast forward to 2014

This year, together with presenting charity sponsor, CapitaLand Hope Foundation, the movement aims to raise 375 thousand dollars for official beneficiary - President’s Challenge 2014. Here are the 63 charities that will benefit from this project, click HERE.

Around June-July 2014, more than 150 volunteers turned up to show support at the recording of the My Singapore Project’s theme song for this year - Moments of Love.

I think zillions of my goosebumps dropped on the floor the day of the recording. Having a group of 150 people singing patriotically and proudly in a studio together is truly an amazing experience.

The official theme song music video titled Moments Of Love features students from Admiralty Primary, Park View Primary, Yang Zheng Primary and West Spring Primary; Bedok Town Secondary, Fuchun Secondary schools, CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School and Hwa Chong Institution, alongside our Members of Parliament and local personalities and talents.

The heartwarming Music Video titled Moments Of Love is ready to view on Youtube!

Amongst them were Mr Teo Ser Luck, Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Mayor, North East District; Ms Penny Low, Member of Parliament; presenting charity sponsor, CapitaLand Hope Foundation, as well as local personality Dr Jia Jia and local artiste Nathan Hartono.

Let me help you spot them in the latest music video:

Left and right: Mr Teo Ser Luck and Ms Penny Low

Left: Dr JiaJia.
You really can't miss him because there were so much coverage in this Music video for him, he's too adorable! As for the little girl singing next to him, she's the main character in the MV who aspires to be a singer. Dr JiaJia played the role of her classmate in this MV.

Guy on left: Youtube celebrity, Nathan Hartono
Right: Robin (Our handsome coordinator who's been patiently answering to all my enquiry, thank you!)

Found this cool cover of "Royals" by Nathan and Cilla on Youtube, click to listen:

I was also one of the volunteers who, together with Fif and MinuteManSG, participated as part of the choir to show our support for this meaningful project.

Left to right: MinutemanSG, Me, Fif Phan

In the MV, I found this shot of the 3 of us singing together as the song goes 'You know you've got a friend you know because we care'. This just makes the music video a whole lot more meaningful to me because in reality, both of them are really good friends of mine and in addition, MinutemanSG is my soulmate. Their unconditional love for me is simply too beautiful.

I know I've got a friend. :)

Group Photo time!

 = BEHIND THE SCENES =

Let's go behind the scenes and share some things that might be interesting yet you'll never get to see on the actual MV itself.

#1 Hidden Lyrics everywhere.
#2 Everyone was barefooted.

Yes we were referring to written lyrics on paper, on our gadgets, anywhere possible!
Also, the corridor was flooded with more than 150 pairs of shoes and almost no more space to walk because everyone was singing barefooted in the studio.

Interesting sight but I was too busy trying not to step on the shoes and forgot to take a picture!
Everyone busy finding their shoes~

And finally when we did, how about a group photo together in the waiting area with some of the beautiful students? heh-heh

#3 Miss Lorraine Tan briefing us on what to do before we start the shooting.
认真的女人真的很漂亮!
major not easy facilitate more than 150 people in a restricted area.

Standby and ready for recording!

#4 Deleted Scenes From the Music Video

There are 3 stories to share in the Moments Of Love MV and I took part in one of them, the story of the 2 school boys who eventually became best of friends. The original story was about a bad boy always bullying a good boy in his class. He was later being assaulted by a group of gangsters outside the school and was saved by the 'good boy' together with a group of passers-by.

I played the role of the 'Ah Lian'.

This storyline was later amended and I personally feel that the new one is better about the 'bad boy' felling down from his bicycle and trapped. The 'good guy' and a group of friends later tried to save him.

The gangster scene was taken out of course but fortunately, I managed to capture some screenshots to keep as fond memories. You're seeing it here only on my blog, presenting the deleted scenes from the MV.

'Passers-by' throwing their belongings at the gangsters to stop them from assaulting the 'bad boy':

In this blur shot, The passerby in the middle is Nathan and the girl on the right is a blogger named Peiling.
Here are the credits at the end for the original storyboard:

I still enjoy the latest MV because it was as heartfelt as the previous.
Thank you Lorraine and Robin for inviting me to participate in the making of Moments Of Love!
